FA Cup Bets: Posh to push Burnley in this huge early Saturday acca

Rotherham vs Hull, Saturday, 12.31pm

Even though a division separates Hull from Rotherham, this is an extremely difficult fixture to call.

Rotherham, so often a yoyo team between League One and the Championship, currently sit second place in the third tier and are well placed to make a return to the Championship once again.

Hull, thanks largely to the form of Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki, find themselves just two points off the Championship playoffs.

Both sides have enjoyed a fruitful Christmas period with Hull taking ten points from their last five games and Rotherham taking 11 and it is set to be a very tight affair on Saturday.

If Hull elect to deploy the lethal duo of Bowen and Grosicki, they should have just about enough to seal their place in the Fourth Round.

Rochdale vs Newcastle, Saturday, 12.31pm

Rochdale proved earlier in the season that they are capable of putting it up to Premier League teams when they took Manchester United to penalties in the League Cup.

However, they have shown little since to suggest they are capable of repeating the feat on Saturday as they currently sit 18th in League One off the back of an inconsistent Christmas.

Newcastle, their opponents on Saturday, have had a disastrous Christmas period too which undermined an exceptional run in the weeks previous.

Steve Bruce’s charges have lost each of their last three games, conceding nine times and scoring just twice as lingering doubts about their safety have crept back to the surface.

Saturday marks an opportunity to get back on track and they should do so with relative ease.

Newport County

Millwall vs Newport County, Saturday, 12.31pm

Newport have developed quite a reputation in the early rounds of the FA Cup over the last two seasons.
The Welsh club have enjoyed a smattering of surprise victories against the likes of Premier League Leicester last season and Championship Leeds United the season previous.

A similar win over Millwall on Saturday afternoon would be unlikely to catch the eye like those famous victories, but it would be arguably more impressive given Millwall’s recent form and given that Newport are away from home.

Gary Rowett’s side have lost just one of their last 11 league games in a run that has propelled them into the Championship playoffs.

Newport, meanwhile, have given no indication that they can cause an upset similar to those against Leeds and Leicester. They went six games without a win over the festive period – losing four – and they are without a league victory since October.

Still, the FA Cup will never be without its upsets and, with the newfound distraction of the playoffs, Millwall may well forego any involvement in the FA Cup.

Newport (+1) @ 9/5

Burnley vs Peterborough, Saturday, 12.31pm

Burnley are another side that have endured a terrible run of form over Christmas.

Prior to the 25th, the Clarets could be described as inconsistent, as capable of a superb result as they were a humiliating defeat.

Now, however, Sean Dyche looks like he has a relegation battle on his hands.

They have had just two shots on target in their last three league games, each of which has ended in defeat and they look completely short of ideas up front.

Like Burnley, Peterborough have endured a damaging Christmas season, losing each of their last three games. They do, however, remain in the League One playoffs and their chances of returning to the Championship have not yet suffered a fatal blow.

They stand an excellent chance of ousting a Burnley side at the week that has historically been very poor in the FA Cup over the last decade.

Peterborough (+1) @ 17/10
