Monday Football Tips: Wigan can’t handle Blackburn Dack attack at 6/1

Feed the Dack and he will score?

Blackburn vs Wigan, Monday, 19:45

Blackburn Rovers welcome Wigan Athletic to Ewood Park on Monday night to wrap up the final Championship round before Christmas. Blackburn are tenth in the table and on an impressive run of form having won five out of their last six in the league.

Poor old Wigan though are rooted to the bottom and haven’t won since beating Forest at home in October; they’re not won on the road in the league since a 1-2 win over Leeds in April.

Can Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn heap more pain on Wigan and, more importantly, can we find some value in the betting markets?

Blackburn to Win – 8/11

You can’t argue with Blackburn’s record of late, five wins in their last six Championship matches, six wins in their last eight. At home they’ve won their last four in a row and drew the two prior to that.

Indeed, they’ve lost just two of their 11 home Championship matches this season, winning six and drawing three. If they could sort out their away form they could be battling it out for a playoff place come the end of the season.

Rovers are averaging 1.36 goals per match at home in the league this season and conceding just 0.91. Over their last five at home, they’ve scored nine and conceded five, keeping two clean sheets.

Wigan meanwhile are just plain awful on their travels, not winning a single away Championship match this season, drawing three and losing eight.

There is one bit of good news though; they are at least scoring on their travels now with six goals in their last five on the road. They’ll put up a good fight here but Blackburn have the momentum and form to come out on top.

Blackburn to Win is currently 8/11.

Both Teams to Score: Yes – 4/5

As said above, Blackburn are averaging 1.36 goals per match and have scored in all but one of their home Championship matches so far this season. They’re not winning their matches by huge margins but they’re consistent and that’s pretty much what you’d want from a Tony Mowbray team.

They’re conceding 0.91 goals per game too and Both Teams to Score has landed in five out of their last seven league matches at home.

Wigan are getting on the scoresheet away from home of late, averaging 0.82 goal per match and conceding 1.91. They’ve scored in 8 out of 9 of their home and away matches and with Blackburn’s defence not exactly rock solid, there’s decent value in Wigan scoring here so we’re picking Both Teams to Score at 4/5.

Bradley Dack to Score Anytime – 21/10

Bradley Dack is Blackburn’s top scorer with nine in his 21 league matches for Rovers and has scored four in his last six matches in the Championship.

He’s faced off against Wigan six times in his career so far, twice with Gillingham and four times with Rovers, scoring three goals across those matches.

Being in good goal scoring form and having put a few past Wigan already he’s getting our nod here to Score at Anytime at 21/10.

These three bets together give a Same Game Multi of over 6/1
