Georgia vs Denmark: Denmark (-1) – 17/10
Going to Georgia is never easy as Ireland (2017) and Scotland (2015) have found that out to their peril.
However, the Georgians don’t seem as formidable as they did two years ago. Switzerland beat them comfortably in Tbilisi in March, while Denmark themselves annihilated them in Copenhagen in June.
Even Ireland outclassed them in Dublin, despite only being able to muster a solitary goal for their efforts.
The Danes will not be daunted by a trip to Georgia and they look to have the bit between their teeth since drawing at home to Ireland in June.
They have scored 11 goals in their last two games and a win on Sunday will put them top of Group D.
Expect Kasper Schmeichel and Co to get the job done with a bit to spare.
Sweden vs Norway: Sweden to win – 5/6
This is a strange one for Sweden and Norway. The two Scandinavian countries find themselves in an unusual situation of both at least guaranteed a place in the play-offs, all thanks to their performances in their respective Nations League campaigns.
That said, they will both surely want to seal qualification the old-fashioned way as making it through the play-offs is by no means a formality.
The northern neighbours served up an absolute classic in Oslo back in March when Robin Quaison struck in the 91st minute to give Sweden a 3-2 lead, only to have it cancelled out six minutes later by Ola Kamara.
Sunday’s game could be similarly tight as both sides look likely to go toe-to-toe for the second qualification spot in Group F behind Spain, barring an unlikely surge from Romania.
With home advantage, Sweden should have just about enough for their local rivals and establish a bit of daylight between them.
Finland vs Italy: Italy to win – 4/6
Like their Scandinavian neighbours, Finland are assured of at least a play-off place next spring.
However, they haven’t not rested on their laurels and have been something of a surprise package in qualifying. They currently sit five points ahead of second seeds Bosnia and Herzegovina and look well placed to qualify ahead of them following a Teemu Pukki-inspired 2-0 win in June.
Pukki’s club form has traversed into international football as he continues to defy all logic and score goals for fun. His goal glut has contributed to a four-game winning run that, combined with their guaranteed play-off place, gives them some room to breath in qualifying.
There is no pressure on Finland on Friday night against an Italian side that have been faultless in qualifying so far. They look set to avoid the embarrassment that was their failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup and have put a mediocre Nations League campaign firmly behind them.
The Italians are unmistakably a team in transition, but they should have just about enough to see off Finland.
