Juve got to be joking! Serie A win nets punter £314,000 from 27 leg acca

It's fair to say if you pick 27 winners together in an acca you deserve a big payout, but 314k?! This punter had to sweat for this once-in-a-lifetime win...

Is there anything more annoying than putting together an acca you’re convinced will payout out in four or five figures only to realise that one of the games is a day later than the rest? Even if the other six or seven win, you’re then stuck with the agonising wait for the last leg to come through – and you know that it’ll let you down!

Well, imagine putting 26 straight winners together for 10 quid on the weekend and waiting until the next Friday to find out if the 27th and last winner would come in for you to break open the bubbly!

That’s what one of Paddy’s shop punters in North London had to endure last week as they waited for Juventus to play Udinese on Friday night.

United’s late win versus Southampton, Wolves mauling Cardiff, and Chelsea turning over Fulham thanks to Jorginho’s collectors-item strike, these are the results dreams are made of, though AFC Fylde’s 2-1 triumph over Maidenhead played their part too.

Even PSG, prior to their Ole folly, chipped in by beating Caen on Sunday.

And that meant that after the weekend fixtures, the series of shrewd selections – dating back to Thursday, February 28th when Sheikh Russel KC knocked off Nofel Sporting Club in the Bangladeshi Premier League – had totted up a possible return after 25 legs of over £108,000 from just £10. Vitoria Guimaraes then delivered against Maritimo at 8/11 in the Portuguese Primeira on Monday evening to bump up the punter’s 26-of-27 leg acca just north of £186,000.

And then the countdown began.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday waiting on the Old Lady – it sounds like bringing your mum down the shops when she can’t find her purse.

Well, this lucky so-and-so can treat their nearest-and-dearest royally now.

At and odds-on 3/10, they could be reasonably confident on their final leg considering there was over quarter of a million quid riding on it, and the Bianconeri did their best to get things sorted quickly once kick-off time finally came, taking the lead on 11 minutes, going two up before the half, and running out 4-1 winners.

Phew.

That took their 27-game acca total to over £242,000 and also brought in two multiple bets with fewer legs – hedging the bets their lads, we see you – to take in another £72,000, making the final return £314k.

Not a bad week’s work.
