Brighton V Chelsea
Looks like a fairly easy call on paper but Brighton are unbeaten at home in almost three months and the Amex is not an easy place to go to and come away with three points. However we’re going to keep this short and to the point. We’re siding with the visitors for three main reasons:
- Chelsea beat City. City are good.
- Chelsea are as fresh as daisies. Sarri rested a lot of first-teamers, saving them the trip to Hungary mid-week. We like that.
- The Seagulls are missing their Salmon – Shane Duffy. He’s no Gary Breen but the Irishman’s presence alone is a big loss. They lost to Burnley – BURNLEY!! – last week without him. Also, Leon Balogun will probably deputise and we just don’t fancy his chances of having a worldy, even if Morata was to start.
Sarri’s men have kept eight clean sheets out of 16 and while Chris Hughton always has them well drilled, we think a win to nil* is on the cards. 13/10 we think is a good price and worth taking here.
If that price doesn’t tickle your fancy then the #WhatoddsPaddy bet of Chelsea to score in both halves and to have over 1.5 corners in each @ 3/1 half looks pretty tasty.
*Disclaimer: completely dependent on David Luiz starting.
Southampton v Arsenal
Things didn’t really get off to a good start for Ralphy and the Saints last week, losing a massive three points to relegation battling buddies, Cardiff. Some might say he was a bit unlucky, not getting a shout for a peno whilst their goal conceded was a gift on a plate from the supposed next VVD, Jannik Vestergaard.
They did manage 12 shots on goal however, which is encouraging, plus Ralph has had a week on the training pitch to assess how shit his players actually are.
Ok, we’ll get to the point. Arsenal will have too much for them and will win. They’re flying high at the moment, looking hungry and most of all playing with confidence and belief.
The bet we’re on is Arsenal to score 2+ goals and over 6 corners @ 11/4.
To add another we fancy as well, we’re hoping Southampton can muster up enough energy and enthusiasm for their new boss – at home – to put one past Leno. And with that in mind, we think the Power Price of Arsenal to win 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 @ 9/2 is great value. Plus, the sound man he is, he’s only gone and sent free drinks vouchers to all Saints season ticket holders to get them absolutely on it come kick off.
Betting Summary
Chelsea to win to nil @ 13/10
Arsenal to score 2+ goals and over 6 corners @ 11/4.
