Huddersfield v Fulham: See off Monday with a 9/2 same game multi

It mightn't be pretty but when a team with a leaky defence meets a side who can't score something has got to give. Right?

It’s a race to the bottom on Monday Night Football as last season’s overachievers Huddersfield Town host Premier League newbies, Fulham.

Both sides are in shocking form and prop up the division, so it could be a case of who is less bad in front of the tv cameras tonight.

Here’s a 9/2 Same Game Multi that might just help you to postpone hitting the off button on the remote.

Huddersfield-Town

The Cottagers had the whip hand over Huddersfield in the Championship before their ascension having won seven and drawn four of their 11 meetings in the England’s second tier.

The problem for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side now is that their defence is leakier than Britain’s Brexit negotiations, having shipped 28 goals in their first 10 games.

While a Premier League defeat at home to Arsenal (1-5) and a League Cup loss away to Manchester City (2-0) can be excused, conceding four to Cardiff (4-2) and three at home to Bournemouth (0-3) should cause way more cause for concern.

The one desperate straw that the Cottagers’ can cling to is that – even in defeat – they can score goals.

And that’s something the Terriers’ crave.

Leg 1: Fulham to score the first goal 5/4.

Huddersfield haven’t won at home since beating Watford 1-0 last April. What’s worse, is that they haven’t even scored a Premier League goal at the Kirklees Stadium since that 1-0 victory.

A 0-0 draw with Cardiff is the highlight of their season at home, having suffered impotent defeats against Liverpool, Spurs, Palace and Chelsea.

And while Fulham should prove a little more manageable than the big guns in the Premier League – this worrying goal-less trend stretches back to home defeats against Everton & Arsenal at the end of last season also.

The easy option would be to plump for a draw – and we’re big fans of the easy option, particularly on Mondays.

However, we’re going to give Fulham a one-goal lead on the handicap at 4/7 and see if the Terriers bite.

Leg 2: Fulham +1 in the handicap betting at 4/7.

Andre-Schurrle

Both managers are already in an early-season dog-fight for Premier League survival and in Slavisa Jokanovic’s case – his job.

The Serb though could have a secret weapon in the form of on-loan Andre Schurrle.

Four goals in 10 games this season is something the combined squad of Huddersfield can only dream of and at 23/10 to score at any time over the 90 minutes for the visitors – the former Chelsea man he can make it a night to remember. But only if you’re a Fulham fan.

Leg 3: Andre Schurrle to score at any time in 90 minutes 23/10
