Croatia v England: Close the door on this 18/1 Same Game Multi

England will take on Croatia in an almost empty Stadion Rujevica on Friday night and we’ve picked out a top trio of bets for the contest…

Draw – 21/10

The atmosphere on Friday in Croatia could be stranger than a Brexit roundtable with Theresa May and Arlene Foster these days as England meet the home side behind closed doors.

It’s seems a weird stage to be looking for revenge for their World Cup semi-final defeat, but you’d suspect that will be the last thing on Gareth Southgate’s mind. England’s charismatic leader brings a squad of young guns on the trip and he’d take any Nations League points on offer before kick-off.

Despite reaching the heights of the World Cup final in July, Croatia will actually be looking to regain some respectability in Rijeka after being battered 6-0 by Spain last time out.

Zlatko Dalić will want to keep it a lot tighter in this one and we reckon both sides would settle for a draw at 21/10 if it was offered to them now.

Both teams to Score: Yes – 17/20

While both national outfits have some outstanding attacking flair on show, it’s their dithering defence that’s peaked our interest in this one.

England may have kept a clean sheet in Leicester last time out, but they had conceded six goals in their previous three games before that. They’ve also been deprived of both Luke Shaw and Danny Rose on the left-hand side of defence, where it looks like Ben Chilwell will have to step in.

On the flip side, the less said about the Croatian defence the better, as they’ve let in a whopping 11 goals in their last three outings.

Even though there won’t be many people there to see it, we believe the net will be budging at both ends of the Stadion Rujevica and we’re taking the 17/20 on offer for that to happen.

James Maddison to score anytime – 4/1

There’s nothing that punters love more than calling a bolt from the blue and James Maddison has been starring in that colour for Leicester City so far this season.

The summer signing from Norwich City, stands on the brink of his first cap for the Three Lions thanks to a stellar start to the Premier League campaign with three goals to his name.

Southgate has shown in the past that he’s not afraid to give youth it’s chance and don’t be one bit surprised to see Maddison in the starting line-up on Friday evening.

He has quite literally been a fox around the box for Leicester and don’t be surprised if he brings that form to England with an anytime goal against Croatia at 4/1.
