Perfect 10: How one punter turned five quid into 3k with a 10-fold footie acca

It took just seven hours last Saturday for one lucky lads from Manchester to turn a fiver into 3k. And here's how he did it ...

It was a good weekend for soccer punters generally but a particularly profitable Saturday for one lucky lad from Manchester.

We don’t know if he’s a Red or a Blue but he has both teams to thank – and one in particular – for delivering an eye-popping 566/1 accumulator in a little over seven hours.

He kicked off his weekend wager with what looked a tricky fixture as unbeaten Liverpool took on Spurs at Wembley in the early kick-off.

However, goals from Wijnaldum and Firmino for the Reds before Lamela’s injury-time reply, meant our man was up and running for eight more legs in the 3pm kick offs.

And when Bamba gave Cardiff a shock 16th minute lead at Chelsea, he could have been forgiven in thinking it wasn’t going to be his day.

However, little over an hour and an Eden Hazard hat-trick later, Chelsea ensured they wouldn’t let our man down and neither did Crystal Palace, Brentford, Man City, QPR, Arsenal, Hull and Bournemouth.

So, it all hinged on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United getting a result away to the unbeaten Watford.

We’re pretty sure we heard his screams in Power Tower as first Romelu Lukaku, and then Chris Smalling, gave the Red Devils a 2-0 lead heading into the break.

But the drama started in the 65th minute when Andre Gray pulled one back for the home side, who then laid siege to United’s goal in search of an equaliser. But even Nemanja Matic’s red card deep into injury time couldn’t spoil Jose Mourinho’s or our Manchester marvel’s day.

Well done to you sir! There’s £3k sitting in your account for a job well done.
