Three bets to look at for Real Madrid v Bayern Munich

We make our picks from the markets on Real Madrid v Bayern Munich...

Real Madrid to win and 3 or 4 total goals in the match

In the history of the Champions League, no team has ever managed to qualify after a 2-1 first-leg defeat at home, while Bayern have lost their last six games against Real Madrid, all of which were in the knockout stages of the Champions League. So we’re fairly sure Real Madrid will go into this tie extremely confident of emerging with a win at the Bernabeu tonight.

Additionally, Real have scored in each of their last 41 Champions League games at home and the German side haven’t succeeded in keeping a clean sheet in any of their previous 13 matches in the competition. So we’re fairly sure this isn’t going to be a nil-all affair.

You could see a tight 2-1 or perhaps a 3-1 being the most likely results, so it’s worth thinking about Real to win and 3 or 4 total match goals at 7/2.

Joshua Kimmich to Score and Assist a Goal

Ok, so this one’s clearly for those of you looking for a bit of value on a long(ish) shot.

But bear with me here. According to Opta, “No player has been involved in more goals for Bayern in the Champions League this season than Joshua Kimmich (6 – three goals and three assists).”

The full-back netted brilliantly in the first leg, and is always a threat going forward. With Bayern’s attackers hungry to get on the end of his crosses, a Kimmich assist is always on the cards. At 2/1, the young German to assist anytime is therefore not a bad bet.

But if you’re looking for a bit of a punt for your spare 50p, you could do worse than Joshua Kimmich To Score and Assist a Goal at 16/1.

Marco Asensio To Score Any Time

Marco Asensio has a knack for scoring as a sub. But he also has a knack for scoring in knockout matches against Bayern. His last three CL goals have been as a sub, two of them versus Bayern – in last season’s quarter-final and this season’s semi-final first-leg. The other, of course, was notched in the 2016/17 final, so this is a man who enjoys the big occasion.

With that in mind, there’s no harm in looking at Marco Asensio to score any time at 11/4.
