Premier League: Three best bets for Chelsea v West Brom

Monday Night Football will be an interesting affair as two sides desperate for a win meet at Stamford Bridge…

Chelsea to win to nil – 6/5

Back-to-back defeats by three-goal margins has Chelsea boss Antonio Conte on thinner ice than Theresa May and he knows a win at home to West Brom is paramount, if he’s to hold onto the reigns at Stamford Bridge.

After spending his last couple of months losing out in a spat with Jose Mourinho and complaining loudly about the lack of signings, it’s not like the warning signs haven’t been there for Conte and there’s no doubt he needs his charges to arrest their slump tonight.

Thankfully for the Italian, he has a fantastic record against The Baggies having beaten them three times since he took over at The Blues without conceding a single goal. Meanwhile, Alan Pardew will occupy the opposition dug out later looking to become the first manager to win at Stamford Bridge with three different clubs.

However, having lost their last two games, West Brom find themselves cut adrift at the bottom Premier League table and are now seven points off safely. Chelsea really couldn’t have asked for a better fixture to stop their recent slide and we’re backing them to win to nil at 6/5 on Monday Night Football.

Eden Hazard to score first – 10/3

The return to form for the brilliant Belgian winger has been one of the few bright sparks in an otherwise disappointing season for the defending champions.

Hazard is just one strike off hitting double figures in league this campaign and he’s already grabbed four goals in 2018 alone.

He’s no stranger to inflicting damage to the Baggies either, and netted twice for Chelsea at The Hawthorns in a 4-0 away success during the reserve fixture in November.

The Blues talisman has scored first in two games for The Blues already in this season’s Premier League and we’re tipping him to make it a three at 10/3 tonight.

Over 40 points in the card index – 7/5

While this game is hardly a rivalry for either side, in recent times it has been a testing fixture for the referee’s note book.

In fact, five of the last six meetings between the pair have hit 50 points or more in our Card Index and Lee Mason could have another busy night of scribbling later.

Chelsea’s indiscipline at Watford toppled the 40-point mark by themselves inside the opening half hour last week (thanks Tiemoué Bakayoko) and we reckon that number will be surpassed again tonight at 7/5.

Happy whistling!
