Premier League: There’s quite a draw to this 16/1 Tuesday treble

A rare round of mid-week Premier League games promises to bring the fun under the floodlights…

Swansea v Arsenal: Draw – 10/3

While they may not be quite flying high, The Swans have certainly started to distend their wings since Carlos Carvalhal arrived at the helm in late December.

The former Sheffield Wednesday boss hasn’t managed to pull Swansea out of the relegation battle just yet, but seven points from 12 has brought safety within touching distance and an unlikely win over Champions League-chasing Liverpool last time out was actually good news for their opponents on Tuesday, Arsenal.

The Gunners find themselves five points off the coveted fourth place spot and know a victory against the bottom side is essential to keep the pressure on those above them. However, one win in their last five away outings isn’t exactly the best way to break into the exclusive Champions League clubhouse.

Swansea have proven to be no pushovers of late and we reckon Carvalhal will put the brakes on another slick ‘Formula 1-like’ side to secure at least a point at 10/3.

West Ham v Crystal Palace: Draw – 21/10

David Moyes and Roy Hodgson may have been labelled as ‘Premier League dinosaurs’ prior to their appointments at West Ham and Crystal Palace respectively. However, they’ve proved the doubters wrong in the short term at least and have even managed to dig up some good form with their new charges.

Both sides are still only a loss away from being dragged into the relegation mire though and this meeting at the London Stadium could prove crucial to their survival ambitions.

The Eagles have grabbed an impressive eight points from the last 15 available to them away from home and look to have finally figured out how to score on their travels since their 3-0 thumping of Leicester at the King Power Stadium in mid-December.

The Hammers were stung by League One Wigan in the FA Cup at the weekend and will surely be chomping at the bit to prove a point on Tuesday. However, we reckon Moyesy and Co would settle for that point if it was offered to them and we’re tipping another stalemate here at 21/10.

Huddersfield v Liverpool: Liverpool win – 3/10

You’d have to say that losing 1-0 in Wales, in their previous league outing was ‘beautifully Liverpool’. Defeat to the Premier League’s basement club came hot on the heels of impressively snapping Manchester City’s unbeaten streak.

That defeat ended a 19-game run for The Reds without a loss and worse was to come for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they were shambolically dumped out of the FA Cup at Anfield by West Brom, in one of the craziest games you are likely to witness.

Surely that all points to a bitter, bespectacled reunion with Klopp’s former Dortmund assistant David Wagner on Tuesday. Well, actually maybe not; the Terriers seem to have completely lost their bark.

Huddersfield haven’t won any of their last seven games and have lost their last three league games heavily. Liverpool can take extend that losing streak whilst arresting their mini-slide with a win in Yorkshire at 3/10.
