We’re offering 25/1 that the new Leeds crest lasts less time at the club than Brian Clough

We feel sorry for the intern who created this on MS Paint...

Leeds United fans are marching on together in their criticism of their club’s new crest, revealed yesterday to much fanfare…and immediate social media ridicule.

Such is the disapproval among fans that we’re offering odds of 10/1 that the Yorkshire club don’t play a single league fixture with their newly designed crest on their kits.

With the Yorkshire rose being ditched after years adorning Leeds jerseys, the chances that a Leeds player showing their support for the current crest by giving it a kiss in their next fixture are 2/1.

And with the Yorkshire club famed for short-lived, bright ideas, we’ve got 25/1 on the new crest lasting less time than Brian Clough’s infamous 44 days in charge in 1974.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “This new design does have a real retro feel, with Leeds obviously having asked an intern to create it on Microsoft Paint.

“The club claim to have consulted with more than 10,000 people on the design…they must have all been from Sheffield.”
