Watch: Mick McCarthy defiantly drags ‘some people can f**k off’ quote back up again

Tells it like it is does Mick…

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has never been a man to sugar-coat things when it comes to the media and today was no different.

The former Republic of Ireland boss enjoyed a 1-0 home success over a 10-man Leeds United side at Portman Road today and it inspired him to bring up a quote he’d used in a post-match interview against the same opposition four years ago.

That day McCarthy was frustrated at a 1-1 draw with The Whites, that his side had dominated and didn’t take too kindly to a reporter’s question when he was asked, ‘some people who call that two points dropped’. To which he responded with the almost Shakespearean, ‘some people can f**k off’.

It must have been written in the stars that Mick would repeat the line today, as he was asked in the post-game press conference why goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski was absent from the line-up to face Leeds.

Well, let’s just say he wasted no time in giving the question the treatment and thankfully Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay was there to capture it for us all to enjoy. Watch it yourself below:

McCarthy is the 3/1 favourite to replace Martin O’Neill for a second stint as Ireland boss if you fancy it by the way…
