Paddy’s picks for a lovely mid-week £500,000 Hotshot Jackpot

Paddy gives us his six selections that could end up netting someone a cool half a million...

The hunt for a winner of our £500,000 Hotshot Jackpot continues and hopefully it’s not as long as Lord Sugar spends trying to find himself yet another Apprentice.

A hectic mid-week of Premier League action has filled the jackpot void left by the absence of the Champions League and it could turn into a wonderful Wednesday for one or more of our punters if they can get their selections on point. Who knows, even Karren Brady might raise smile if she won it!

Anyway, it’s a simple process to enter. Just head over to our Hotshot Jackpot site, pick six first goal scorers for tonight’s games and if they come you win! Make sure you get in there before 7.45pm though, because that’s the deadline.

To help you along the way, we’ve pulled Paddy away from the Christmas cake to give you his picks for tonight.

Swansea v Man City – Sergio Aguero

After being left on the bench for the Manchester derby, you can bet that Sergio Aguero will be hungry to feed on a Swans’ defence tonight that looks perfect for plucking.

The little Argentine has netted nine times in 10 starts for City this season and has netted first on four of those occasions. Add in that he tends to take spot kicks ,when he’s on the field, and you’ll see why he’s a good shout tonight.

Southampton v Leicester – Charlie Austin

After being about successful as Rangers’ hunt for a new manager in his quest to recover from a number of injuries for the last while, Charlie Austin must have had some divine intervention because he finally looks fit, healthy and in the form to terrify defences again for The Saints.

Austin has powered in four strikes in his four games and even grabbed the opener against Arsenal in less than three minutes last time out. Hopefully, he’ll be our angel among Saints later.

Man Utd v Bournemouth – Marcus Rashford

The key thing when it comes to dealing with young football stars is patience and Jose Mourinho is now being repaid for sticking with Marcus Rashford after the forward/winger went through a sticky patch in front of goals.

Rashford has struck twice in his last two starts for the Red Devils and looked to be their only real goal threat as City milked a victory at Old Trafford on Sunday. Bournemouth should feel the backlash later and don’t be surprised to see the 20-year-old leading the charge.

Liverpool v West Brom – Sadio Mané

After a moment of pure greed that would have had Donald Trump smiling on Sunday against Everton, Sadio Mané has some making up to do when it comes to the Anfield faithful and what better way to do it than netting the opener against West Brom.

The Senegalese star has netting the first goal in the Premier League in exactly half the games he’s scored in this season and let’s face it, he owns his teammates and the fans one later tonight.

Tottenham v Brighton – Harry Kane

Can you really pick anyone else these days when it comes to Spurs?

Kane second only to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah when it comes to goals scored in the Premier League this campaign and with Brighton arriving at Wembley having conceded seven in their last two outings, Harry and Co could make it a long night for The Seagulls.

West Ham v Arsenal – Mesut Ozil

Before you shout about the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Alexandre Lacazette and or even Marko Arnautović you need all the facts.

Believe it or not Mesut Ozil, has an astounding record of netting the first goal in this fixture. The German has scored first in the last three meetings with The Hammers and with the January transfer window just around the corner, can you really rule him out from doing it to Moysey’s men again?
