Sean Dyche remains in pole position for the vacant Everton manager’s job, but punters are favouring Sam Allardyce in the race to Goodison.
Big Sam is an 8/1 shot for the position, some distance behind Dyche and caretaker boss David Unsworth (both 5/2), but has attracted more bets with us than any other candidate..
Odds on Unsworth getting the job permanently have shortened overnight from 7/2 – with the supporters’ backing, and three winnable Premier League fixtures coming up, the untried coach is in a great position to take the role full-time.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Big Sam’s been linked with every vacancy going this season, for understandable reasons, but this is the first time we’ve seen a serious flow of cash on him returning to football management.
“It’d be a quite spectacular throw of the Allardyce for Everton, but if ever a boss was made for managing Toffees, it’s him.”
