The three best #WhatOddsPaddy bets of the International break

We picked out the pick of the bunch of our requested bets...

Each and every week, we let our plucky punters choose the bets by hitting us up on Twitter with odds requests using the hashtag #WhatOddsPaddy.

We then go down to the dungeons of Power Tower and have our traders price them up, all so our loyal customers can place money on them.

These seem to get wilder by the week, but when they land it pays out big for the creative minds that came up with them in the first place and those that choose to follow.

So, here’s a few of the best winners from last weekend.

Exactly 2 goals; exactly 10 corners & exactly 3 cards in Ireland v Moldova – 80/1

Eight Paddy Power customers must have been delighted with Harry Arter’s little moment of skulduggery at the end of Friday night’s routine qualifier win over Moldova.

That’s because having secured the two goals and exactly 10 corners needed to land this whopping 80/1 shot, punters still lacked two cards to seal the loot with just about a minute left on the watch in injury time.

Thankfully, the Bournemouth man took offence to a bump from Alexandru Gațcan and promptly hit the deck when the Moldovan midfielder stuck his forehead into him faster than Donald Trump can blast NFL players on Twitter.

The act brought out a yellow for Arter, as well as a red Gațcan and sent our excellent eight into dreamland, including one punter who netted winnings of £810 from just a £10 stake. You’re a wizard Harry!

Ireland Win to Nil v Wales; James McClean to score & over 9.5 corners – 50/1

Oh, what a night! Needing a win in Cardiff, James McClean drove a dagger into the heart of the Dragons’ World Cup challenge with a 57th minute strike.

The Derryman seems to love playing away from home more than Ryan Giggs these days with all four of his qualifier goals, in this campaign, coming away from the Aviva Stadium.

Wales huffed-and-puffed throughout bringing in the over 9.5 corners element of the bet by themselves, but in the end Ireland held out and now advance to a play-off for a place at the World Cup in Russia next year.

McClean’s moment of magic scored the 50/1 for 51 #WhatOddsPaddy customers and one even grabbed €765 off a €15 punt. Start revving up the camper vans!

Leigh Griffiths to score; Scotland to score in both halves v Slovenia & Christophe Berra to be carded – 25/1

It’s the hope that kills you as a Scottish supporter and after battling so gamely to put themselves in an unlikely position to qualify on Sunday, Gordon Strachan’s charges yet again fell at the final hurdle to make it to a major tournament (not that anyone in Ireland cares).

The 2-2 draw in Slovenia wasn’t enough to give the Scots a play-off berth, leaving the nation as flat as an opened can of Irn Bru.

However, 26 of our betters will be thankful to some late drama in Ljubljana for allowing them to take down a sweet 25/1 wager.

After Leigh Griffiths had given Scotland the lead in the 32nd minute, three-quarters of this gamble reminded out of reach with just two minutes left on the referees watch. Fortunately for our punters, Robert Snodgrass then popped up to lob Jan Oblak in the Slovenian goal and that was followed by Christophe Berra doing the necessary with an injury time booking.

Scotland may specialise in disappointing their fans, but at least they kept some punters happy last weekend.
