Alex McLeish, who was popular during his own term in charge of the Tartan Army, is 4/1 – while Paul Lambert and Malky Mackay (both 6/1) are also in contention.
Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill (10/1) has been continually linked with the job, while Sir Alex Ferguson is a surprisingly short price (12/1) given his cushty retirement gig at Manchester United.

“If the results weren’t unconvincing enough, his latest rant about genetics means he’s Scot to go – though, given the alternatives, you could understand why the SFA might offer him a new contract. And, Strachan being Strachan, you could well imagine him turning it down.
“David Moyes is our favourite to be next Scotland boss, which would be a choice about as inspiring as some of the football Strachan’s side played earlier in the qualifying process.”
