Ronald Koeman moves to favourite for the axe after Burnley defeat

The storm clouds are gathering at Goodison Park it seems…

As if drawing to a team who finished third in the Cypriot league last season wasn’t bad enough in midweek, things went from bad to worse for Everton and their manager Ronald Koeman today.

That’s because Burnley arrived at Goodison Park and pulled off a smash-and-grab job, taking all three points thanks to a tidy finish from Irish international Jeff Hendrick in the 21st minute.

Despite shelling out over £140m on players in the summer, The Toffees failed to make any attack stick for the remainder of the game and the boos from the home crowd were deafening at the final whistle.

Everton have just scored just four goals in the Premier League this season, they’re lowest total at this stage in over a decade and it seems the fans are starting to get sick of the Dutchman’s leadership.

Not only are the supporters around Merseyside in a frenzy but the speculation around Koeman’s future has our punters in one as well. They’ve flooded the Premier League’s ‘next manager to leave his post’ market, predicting a quick exit from Goodison for the Dutchman.

Koeman is now the firm favourite to be shown the door, drifting from 5/2 into 8/11 now for the chop.

He miles ahead in the odds of West Ham manager Slaven Bilic in second place at 7/2. So, if the betting is to be believed don’t be surprised to see a Dutch departure from Everton very soon.
