As the ‘take a knee’ movement grows in the States, with President Donald Trump harnessing Twitter with his usual diplomatic aplomb, we’ve priced up whether an England player will join the protest before the Three Lions’ next game at Wembley.
And we make it just 3/1 that a member of Gareth Southgate’s starting XI kneels during God Save The Queen.
The action began with Colin Kaepernick in 2016, during the Barack Obama’s time in the White House, as then San Francisco 49er began kneeling and sitting during the American national anthem in order to protest what he sees as social injustice against minorities in the United States.
That follows a weekend of protests in America, with Trump becoming embroiled in a public war of words with several sports stars.
If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect….

As a result, it’s now odds-on (2/5) that both Super Bowl teams have a player take the knee – an event Trump is 4/1 to attend.
It’s 33/1 that an NFL player is fired for their protests, as suggested by Trump – though that may rapidly reduce in price if he buys his own franchise (66/1).
Sports fans should never condone players that do not stand proud for their National Anthem or their Country. NFL should change policy!

Asked about the goings-on in the NFL spokesman Paddy Power said: “I don’t know if Trump has shares in Twitter, but his use of the social media platform appears to be single-handedly keeping it relevant.
“And you know he isn’t one to back down – so I wouldn’t rule out him buying an NFL or NBA franchise just to sack someone.”
