Ship a-woy? Hodgson odds-on for Palace job after De Boer sacking

It looks like the former Three Lions boss is on his way back to the Premier League...

Former England manager Roy Hodgson looks a shoe-in to replace Frank De Boer, after the Dutchman’s brutal sacking just four matches of the season.

Hodgson is hugely odds-on at 1/7 – leading Burnley boss Sean Dyche (7/1), newly appointed Palace Sporting Director Dougie Freedman (10/1), and ex-boss Sam Allardyce (14/1) – though the latter has a hefty buy-out clause in his Paddy Power contract.

Asked about De Boer’s swift sacking spokesman Paddy Power said: “Let’s be Frank, it was inevitable De Boer was going to get de sack when the rumours started to circulate during the international break.

“I’m sure Palace will be more patient with their next boss – after all, it’s not like they’ve got United, City and Chelsea in their first four fixtures…”
