After Sadio Mane was cruelly sent off for kicking another player in the face and fracturing his jaw, reactions were mixed.
Many observers were of the opinion that since the Liverpool attacker was ‘going for the ball’, or ‘not intending to do any damage’, a red card was unmerited. Clearly, there’s a strong feeling out there that booting someone in the head with your studs is A-OK.
Not so Jamie Carragher, who came out strongly on Sky Sports in defence of referee Jon Moss.
Sadly, the reaction to Carra’s perfectly reasonable stance was not universally positive, particularly among the more ‘loyal’ Liverpool supporters on Twitter…
