Frank De Boer is top of the Premier League. Top of the Premier League sack race, that is!
Paddy Power now make the Dutch coach ODDS-ON at 8/13 to be the first top-flight manager to leave his position, after his Crystal Palace side have begun the season with three consecutive losses in the league.
Saturday’s defeat at home to likely relegation rivals Swansea left the Eagles joint-bottom of the table with Bournemouth and West Ham – the latter’s manager, Slaven Billic, is next in the betting (6/4) for the dreaded sack.
Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, has seen his odds shorten from 20/1 to 14/1 as his Arsenal circus has begun the season in particularly chaotic fashion.
Asked his thoughts on the Sack Race spokesman Paddy Power said: “He loves his tippy tappy football, but Palace have yet to score in the league – so Frank might be told to De Boer off.
“Don’t rule out Wenger making a sudden push, though. At least that would mean he could claim he went out by topping a league.”
