Pic: Wayne Rooney trolls City fans on glorious return to Manchester

United's record scorer wasted no time jumping on Twitter after last night’s game…

Wayne Rooney returned to his old stomping ground of Manchester with a bang last night, netting the opener in Everton’s entertaining 1-1 draw away at Man City.

As we told you yesterday, the England legend is second only to Alan Shearer (11) when it comes to inflicting pain on the Citizens and he rattled the onion sack against them for the ninth time in the Premier League on Monday Night Football.

He may be about as popular as at the Etihad Theresa May with Big Ben’s renovation workers , but last night’s strike was special in another way for Rooney as it was his 200th in the Premier League. He’s now only the second man in history to achieve that feat after Shearer.

The goal was his second of the season since returning to boyhood club Everton from Manchester United in the summer and he clearly enjoyed getting yet another one over his former rivals City, judging by his Twitter account anyway.

Rooney posted a snap of his celebration last night, with a rather cheeky caption, on the social network last night and it’s proved to be a hit scoring over 102,000 retweets. Check it out for yourself below:
