Three wonderful wagers on Man City v Everton to perk up your Monday

MNF is back with a bang!

Man City to win with both teams scoring – 9/5

Let’s face it, no one really likes Mondays. There was even a number one song to that effect, but even the ever-grumpy, lead singer of The Boomtown Rats Sir Bob Geldof would admit the prospect of Man City v Everton tonight might just change his mind on that view.

Both sides have been looser with the purse strings this summer than Conor McGregor when he sees a ‘f**k you’ emblazoned suit. However, if you were scratching your head when Everton spent £45m on the talented, yet vastly overpriced Gylfi Sigurdsson then Man City’s £50m purchase of Kyle Walker must had you tearing your hair out.

Anyway onto tonight, The Toffees have found the going sticky at the Etihad Stadium as they’ve failed to win there in any of their last six visits. Everton do, however, hold an excellent recent record of scoring against Pep Guardiola’s men, netting five times against City in their two league meetings last season.

Ronald Koeman’s side will have to excise some away day demons as well tonight though, as they’ve not won outside of Gooison Park in the Premier League since January and we don’t see that changing. We’re going to tip a victory for City with both teams scoring to make our Monday mint.

Wayne Rooney to score anytime – 7/2

As much as Wayne Rooney loves a Sunday roast, he seems to enjoy putting his former rivals Man City to the sword more.

In fact, only Alan Shearer (11) has rattled City’s onion sack more in the Premier League then Rooney’s eight previous goals against them.

Being a United legend means Rooney will probably as welcome inside The Etihad as Donald Trump is at an anti-white supremacists march, but we fancy him to net for the 200th time in England’s top tier with a strike at any time tonight.

He’s also available at a huge 10/1 to score the first goal and there’d be no better way to return to Manchester for the England frontman than that tonight.

Gylfi Sigurdsson to have an anytime assist – 7/2

Like the Icelandic ash cloud crisis in 2010, pundits and fans have been hotter than the magma that spewed from the Eyjafjallajökul volcano over Gylfi Sigurdsson’s mega bucks move to Everton this summer.

However, Sigurdsson’s nine goals and 13 assists in the Premier League last season was enough to convince The Toffees’ new owner Farhad Moshiri to splash the cash.

The Iceland international is cooler than a winter’s day in his native Reykjavik on the field and even managed to score at the home of Man City last April, so the signs are good for tonight’s clash.

Rooney and Co now have a creative force behind them that they badly needed, so we’re backing Sigurdsson to lay one on a plate for his new teammates at anytime tonight.
