A Walsall fan has gone viral after making an unbelievable away day balls up.
He booked a hotel for his side’s away game against Portsmouth this weekend, but actually ended up across the water from the stadium.
The fan thought he’d found himself a bargain when he snapped up a hotel which was listed as 11 miles from Pompey… But turned out to actually be on the Isle of Wight.

Of course, Twitter reacted in hysterics and other football fans also shared their stories of when they’d made mistakes while travelling to watch their team.
The fan, Davey Drew (@Daveysaddler) went on to share an picture of him on a ferry, which he had to board to check into his hotel, then he needed to set sail again to watch the game.

“I’m a bit annoyed by this,” Davey later fessed up in another tweet.
“If we get the result I might see the funny side.”
In the end, his team went ahead only to draw 1-1.
