Stir some life into Chelsea v Watford with these three wonderful wagers

It may be a Premier League dead rubber, but here’s how you can make the most of tonight’s game

No Watford goalscorer – Evens

Get the champagne, cake and Russian vodka ready because Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge is set to host a title party ‘Project X’ would be proud of tonight. Even if they have to wait until the Sunderland game on Sunday for the guest of honour to arrive.

Antonio Conte’s men sealed a fifth English crown in the Premier League era last Friday, thanks to an unlikely winner from social media pro and bit-part player Michy Batshuayi’s late goal at West Brom. Tonight, they face a woefully out of form Watford side who are less likely to play party poopers and more inclined to be that guy who waits quietly in the corner, waiting to be asked to try to pin the tail on the donkey.

As harsh as it sounds, donkeys might even be the correct way to describe Watford’s attack this season, as they’ve managed a total of just 37 goals all season. Only the three relegated clubs have scored less in the league and it seems like The Hornets have really lost their sting.

Watford have also failed to score in their last four games in-a-row and we’re fancying their players to fail for a fifth time to find the net tonight at Evens. When you consider Chelsea’s defence has been more water tight than Donald Trump’s wallet all season, that punt looks the safest one to back for tonight’s contest.

Willian to score anytime – 8/5

The Brazilian has been linked with Manchester United of late and whether he returns to the bosom of Jose Mourinho remains to be seen, but Willian has taken his chances in the limited opportunities he’s got this campaign.

He netted two at Wembley against Spurs (who he apparently hates if you listen to Chelsea fans) in the FA Cup semi-final and still has 11 goals to his name despite a stop-start season.

Willian should benefit from some squad rotation tonight, as some of his colleagues nurse Premier League title hangovers and being Brazilian, you’d expect him to revel in the samba-like atmosphere.

He’s 8/5 to score anytime later and if this bet lands it can only add to the carnival at Stamford Bridge. Somebody grab the bongos!

Chelsea on the (-1.0) alternative handicap – 4/6

Finally, we realise we had a right pop at Watford’s attack above, so in the interest of fairness we’re going to take one at their defence as well.

The Hornets backline has conceded a whopping 11 goals in their last six games and have been as clueless as their goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes looked hanging around outside Parliament in his full kit last night.

He may be been waiting on a ride to the team hotel, but his teammates might be looking for a taxi to get away from Chelsea tonight. Especially when you consider that the free-scoring Blues have covered this handicap in four of their last five games.

The price at 4/6 is admittedly not the biggest, but hey – you know a cake is coming at every party right? Well, this seems almost as much of a certainty to happen.
