After most of the field crashed out, the remaining four teams in the race can see the chequered flag. A place in the FA Cup final awaits at the finish line.
The Premier League’s top two, Chelsea and Tottenham, are first to see the green lights at 5.15pm tomorrow on Wembley’s perfect track.
While on Sunday at 3pm, Arsenal and Manchester City take their starting positions at the home of English football.
Wacky Wembley Races
Antonio Conte may have his outfit on pole in the Premier League, but tomorrow’s drag race with in-form Spurs looks tighter than Vin Diesel’s tank top.
Even though Chelsea’s turbo-charged engine has spluttered of late – with a couple of defeats to Crystal Palace and most recently to Manchester United – they enter the game as slight 13/8 favourites.
However, we fancy Mauricio Pochettino’s slicker, more aerodynamic model to pip them on the line at 17/10 as they’ve won their last eight games on the bounce.
South Korean star Son Heung-min is 11/2 to score first and his FA Cup performances have been as smashing as The Rock’s box office success this season. He’s joint-top scorer in the competition this campaign with six goals to his name and could well be the best bet to drive one home.
Pep’s men can slash Arsenal’s tyres
If you compare Arsenal’s season to The Fast and The Furious series, it’s as awful as Toyko Drift.
Only an FA Cup win can save it now, but even that might not be enough to keep Arsene Wenger in the driver seat after May.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has given the cup circuit due respect with his selections all season. To be brutally honest, he’ll be delighted it’s The Gunners he’s lining up against on Sunday rather than Chelsea or Spurs.
Admittedly, Arsenal’s recent record when they take on The Citizens is more than decent, but our traders still see them as backmarkers for the contest at 3/1.
A City win at 5/6 could finally have the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade singing ‘See You Again’ to their long serving manager.
