Liverpool v Everton Infographic: All You Need Is Klopp

The Merseyside Derby will be a Hard Day's Night for Ronald Koeman

While Ronald Koeman Gently Weeps

You have to open your history book right back to 1999 to see the last time Everton managed to beat Liverpool at Anfield. Their previous meeting on the red side of the city ended 4-0. It makes for pretty bleak reading if you’re a blue.

Now, Koeman looks to win his first Liverpool derby and secure the love of the Everton faithful, as his side aim for their third win on the bounce.

Hey Jurgen

Liverpool head into the game with the best record versus the top six in the Premier League. After 10 games against Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham, The Reds have picked up 20 points.

They head into the game with their tails up, safe in the knowledge that The Toffees are yet to score a goal against them since Jurgen Klopp took over in October 2015. In that time, they’ve slotted five goals past The Blues, and beat them 1-0 at Goodison in December thanks to a last-minute winner from Sadio Mane.

When it comes to current form, both sides head into the game on the back of two consecutive wins, with the home side earning six points from victories against Arsenal and Burnley, whilst Everton beat West Brom and Hull.

Get By With A Little Help from Romelu

Let’s talk about Romelu Lukaku. He’s Everton’s star man and Koeman’s not-so-secret weapon. In his last five games, he’s netted six goals, including one for Belgium in their World Cup qualifer last Saturday. He’s 15/8 to score at any point tomorrow and with The Reds conceding 36 goals this season at a ratio of roughly 1.24 a game, it could be a nice little earner.

Six of the last 10 derby matches have finished in a stalemate, and you can get 13/5 for a repeat of that, although it’s just too hard to ignore Liverpool’s dominance in this fixture. They’re 4/6 to get the win, or 21/10 to win with Sadio Mane to find the net. For the sake of my bank balance, Let It Be.
