Okay, before you ridicule us completely hear this out! Everton’s recent record against the blue half of Manchester is admittedly not great, but their home stats make better reading.
The Toffees have won five of the last nine meetings between the pair at Goodison Park and nipped an impressive draw at the Etihad Stadium last time out – although City did miss two penalties in that one.
Everton have also picked up 10 points out of the last 15 available and a last second goal from Liverpool remains their only defeat at home all season. Hey, it’s not impossible right…

Morgan Schneiderlin to score anytime on debut – 10/1
New Everton boss Ronald Koeman had his side firing on cylinders when he took over at the start of the season – but an extended, very iffy period followed that.
The Dutch supremo has been telling anyone who’ll listen of late that he wants new signings, and he got his wish yesterday when Morgan Schneiderlin arrived for an initial fee of £20m from Manchester United yesterday.
While Koeman is going to run the rule over the French man beforehand, you expected him to play some part in proceedings and it could be the ultimate irony if he were to net at anytime against Man City, especially have just left their cross-town rivals United.
John Stones to be shown a card first – 16/1
This is a right outside shot we know, but it is the young defender’s first trip back to Goodison Park since his £47.5m move to City from there in the summer.
To be fair to the young England defender he’s kept his nose pretty clean in the disciplinary stakes since his transfer to Pep Guardiola’s men, but as Everton fans will know there’s always a clanger in him and Sunday would seem to be fitting time for one.
Beside Anfield during his days at the Toffees, he’ll have never played in an atmosphere as intimidating as he’ll face on Sunday and any sort of rash reaction early from Stones could have us landing a whopper of a bet.
