By his own admission Chelsea captain John Terry hasn’t seen a whole pile of action of late and he must have been looking forward to his return in the FA Cup Third Round.
Terry lined up in The Blues starting eleven for the first time since October after recovering from a muscle injury and unfortunately for Chelsea his return only lasted a mere 67 minutes as they ran out easy 4-1 winners over League One Peterborough at Stamford Bridge.
Referee Kevin Friend had no hesitation in showing Terry a red card as he was adjudged to be the last man after taken down Peterborough’s Lee Angol on his way to goal.
It was Chelsea’s first sending off all season and of the last six red cards the Blues have received, Terry has been responsible for three of them. He now faces yet another enforced spell on the sidelines.
John Terry has been sent off for Chelsea. I have no idea what happened, but I reckon it was richly deserved.

Of course social media has never been a friend of Terry’s and Twitter exploded as news of his dismissal filtered through.
