Disgusted West Ham fans label City showing ‘f**king embarrassing’ as they bail out early

Trailing 3-0 at half time supporters had seen enough at the London Stadium

It’s fair to say West Ham’s move to the London Stadium hasn’t worked out great for the East London outfit so far, and last night things didn’t get any better.

Having left their beloved Boleyn Ground at the end of last season, homesickness seems to have set in at the Hammers and the intimidation factor looks to be missing in their new digs.

A home Europa League qualifying loss to Romanian minnows Astra Giurgiu set the tone at the start of the season and since then points galore have been dropped at the former Olympic Stadium in the Premier League. There’s also been well documented incidents of crowd disorder, but last night’s 5-0 home FA Cup Third Round exit to Manchester City appears to have West Ham fans at the end of their tether.

A dubious penalty from Yaya Toure, a Havard Nordtveit own goal and a strike from David Silva had City leading 3-0 at the half-time whistle. That was enough to see some West Ham fans head for the exits and a video has emerged of fans actually having to queue to leave after just 50 minutes.

The clip posted by @Slimbill7 on Twitter shows the incident (which you can watch below) and you can audibly hear the person filming describe the entire situation as “f**king embarrassing”.

Being some of the most passionate football supporters in the world, it was hard not to feel for West Ham fans having to watch such an inept home performance last night.

However, as we all know, Twitter wasn’t a kind place when they were seen to be leaving the game early.
