It’s only just 2017 and we’ve already been subject to a strange Paul Merson comment. Happy New Year!
The former Arsenal man was providing his transfer wisdom, suggesting that West Ham should sell Dimitri Payet for £30 million, and buy Manchester United’s Anthony Martial for £200 million.
Sky Sports veteran Jeff Stelling was left to explain to Merson that Martial had been loosely linked with a potential loan deal to The Hammers. Bare in mind he cost United upwards of £38 million in September 2015.
