Hotshot Jackpot Villain of the Week: Read how Alexis Sanchez cost one fella £250,000

He has 14 goals in all competitions, but couldn’t find the net against Stoke for our punter chasing £250,000...

The bloke demanding £400,000-per-week wages from Arsenal failed to find the net in his team’s 3-1 win over Stoke this weekend, costing one player the quarter-of-a-million pound prize.

Before the game, the Chilean machine had scored seven goals in his last eight Premier League matches – the same as Manchester United had managed at the time. He also faced The Potters on the back of a sensational hat-trick against West Ham, so it’s easy to see why over half of all Hotshot Jackpot players put their faith in him.

However, despite managing an assist for Alex Iwobi, the other two goals on Saturday came from Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott. Could it be Charlie Adam’s stomp that halted Sanchez’s goal-scoring? That’s the rumour on Twitter.

The stats are straight-forward, in 15 league appearances Alexis has found the net 11 times. He has a shot accuracy of 59 per cent, has created 40 chances already with a pass accuracy of 75 per cent. No player in the league has had a hand in more goals than him – creating five assists in the meantime.

Still, when you’re the bloke who had already predicted Fernando Llorente, Jamie Vardy, Robert Snodgrass and Benik Afobe would score, you would be feeling fairly confident of Sanchez against a team who have conceded 22 goals so far this season.

That goal didn’t come. However, the same punter went onto correctly predict Sofianne Boufal would come good for Bournemouth, alongside Divock Origi for Liverpool. Oh, and Henrikh Mkhitayan against Tottenham. Leaving the weight of 250k firmly on the shoulders of Arsenal’s star man.

That’s right, Alexis, you might have great dogs but you’re a let-down, mate.

What do you think?
