Manchester United v West Ham Team News: Could Bastian Schweinsteiger be on for his first start under Mourinho?

United are without four players, whilst Andy Carroll could be set for a return to The Hammers

West Ham head to Old Trafford for the second time in four days to try to earn their place in the League Cup semi-finals.

Sunday’s game left United ruing yet more missed chances, with 17 shots to the visiting team’s six and a total of 14 chances created.

The game was their fourth home draw (Stoke, Burnley, Arsenal & West Ham) which they arguably should have won, notching up over 90 shots in the process.

Paul Pogba
The Frenchman received his fifth yellow card of the season on Sunday for diving, in a controversial incident which saw Mourinho belt a bottle and find himself in the stands. Again.

Marouane Fellaini
Came on in the 85th minute and received a yellow card before the end of the game, leaving him suspended too.

Eric Bailly
The Ivorian is out with a long-term knee injury. Although United did receive a boost this week as he returned to training, expecting to be back before Christmas.

Chris Smalling
The defender is still out with a toe injury. Which is still shrouded in mystery, as no one ever confirmed what had actually happened with it. But he’s definitely out.

Bastian Schweinsteiger
Could this man be handed a surprise recall this evening? He returned to the bench on Sunday, and with question marks around Micheal Carrick, it just might be his lucky day…

Diafra Sakho
He bagged a goal on Sunday after just two minutes, but picked up an injury later in the game which could see him out for up to a month.

Andy Carroll
The striker is almost ready to return from a knee problem, and may be back for the EFL Cup game. However, it is also possible he will be saved for Saturday’s game against Arsenal.
