West Brom v Burnley: The 14/1 punt that could kick start your week

It may not be the most glamorous fixture, but this game could offer up more entertainment than most expect

After a cracking weekend of sport including ReUnited, The Betfair chase, Ireland v New Zealand and Andy Murray cementing his position at the top of tennis, its time we came back down to earth.

At first glance, the prospect of West Brom v Burnley may have you reaching for the remote to see what else is on. But this game could offer up more excitement than most expect, even if Sky Sports News are not doing a countdown clock for it.

West Brom go into tonight’s clash on the back of a determined away win against Leicester City and find themselves as 19/20 favouties to take all three points tonight.

The Baggies home form is impressive, having only suffered defeats against high fliers City and Everton so far. Goals will be the biggest concern for Tony Pulis tonight as he is without key men Solomon Rondon and Nacer Chadli.

With both men side-lined tonight, the Baggies will be pinning their hopes on Gareth McAuley. The 6’4 center back has three in all competitions this season and at odds of 14/1 to score first he is worth some each way money.

Burnley have conceded the most corners of any team so far this season, with 95, so expect to see plenty of the Northern Irish defender in The Clarets box this evening.

Paddy Power pay 5 places in the first goalscorer market

Given the West Brom absentees, Sean Dyche will feel tonight’s game is a huge opportunity to secure his first way win of the season. He will be hoping one of his front men can exploit the Baggies vulnerabilities.

Before this weekend’s fixtures, Sam Vokes was the most profitable striker to back in first goalscorer market this season. A £10 stake on the Welshman to score first would have returned profits of £95.

Having found the net four times already he could banish the Monday blues at of 15/2.
