Stupid Punt: The 1,750/1 shot that says Liverpool will hammer Crystal Palace!

Our weekly round-up of some of your beautiful and bizarre Premier League bets

Arsenal to beat Sunderland 9-0, 500/1

  • The greatest ever Premier League thrashing was a 9-0 win back in 1995. However, this was a Manchester United win over Ispwich. Arsenal’s greatest ever away win in the Premier League era was a 6-1 scoreline, most recently in August 2009 where they thrashed Everton.
  • David Moyes was the manager at the time of that win, and there were goals from the likes of Cesc Fabregas, William Gallas and Thomas Vermaelen. Following the game, Moyes said there were “no positives to take out of it.”
  •  Sunderland have never lost 9-0, they have however suffered an 8-0 battering as recently as 2014 at the hands of Southampton. They are currently at the bottom of the table with just two points from nine games.

Burnley to beat Manchester United 4-0, 500/1

  • These two sides have only ever met four times in the Premier League era. In this time, Burnley only managed one win over The Red Devils back in August 2009. It was their first return to top-flight football in 33 years and they beat United, who were the current reigning Champions.
  • Burnley have beat United just that one time in 2009 since September 1968. However, they held them to a goalless draw in August 2014, where Angel Di Maria was substituted after 72 minutes.
  • Manchester United have won just one of their last six Premier League games, coming into the game after a 4-0 loss at Stamford Bridge. Sean Dyche’s side beat Everton 2-1 last time out.

Liverpool to beat Crystal Palace 5-1 & Christian Benteke to score first, 1,750/1

  • In Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Palace last season, Benteke bagged the winner thanks to a penalty in stoppage time. He has bagged three goals in seven appearances so far this season, alongside 10 goals in 2016 for his country.
  • In the Premier League era, Liverpool’s greatest defeat over Palace was a 5-0 scoreline back in November 1992.
  • The Reds have kept just one clean sheet in the league this season, although this does not seem to bother Jurgen Klopp. Speaking last week, he said: “Who needs clean sheets when you have three points?”
