Infographic: From Milan to Manchester – How Zlatan delivers on derby day

16 goals in five cross-city smash ups, the stage is set for Ibra to take Old Trafford by storm on Saturday

He may have swapped L’Arc for L’Arndale, but the striker’s derby day record is enough to evoke fear in any City supporter.

Ibra racked up seven goals in eight Le Classique fixtures, along with four in four in the Milan Derby. It’s safe to say Zlatan means business in his first Manchester Derby.

However, the Swedish striker has to overcome arch-nemesis Pep Guardiola and a rejuvenated City side.

Will Manchester be Red or Blue on Saturday? Bet on

Both sides are unbeaten so far this campaign, with City notching eight goals in three games versus Sunderland, Stoke & West Ham. Jose Mourinho‘s men have recorded victories over Bournemouth, Southampton and Hull with six goals in total. But which Manager will lose their sparkling record come the weekend?

Looking at last season’s results, United saw a 0-0 draw in the corresponding fixture. This was followed in March with a 0-1 win at the Etihad – where Marcus Rashford became an unlikely derby hero. Despite both sides finding the net plenty of times this season so far, recent history suggests under 1.5 goals may be tempting and Paddy Power football ambassador Didi Hamann reckons this is a likely outcome on Saturday.

The managerial head-to-head record suggests Guardiola will be heading to bed with a smile on his face, with seven wins to Jose’s three when the two personalities have met previously. Manchester City are to continue the tradition.

However, with marquee signings like Paul Pogba and Ibrahimovic, there is plenty of money coming in for Manchester United at to give Jose early bragging rights.

Though he does have some tough acts to follow, Wayne Rooney currently has the best record in Manchester derbies. Followed closely by the banned Sergio Aguero and Red favourite, Eric Cantona.

So forget Paris, Barcelona, Milan and Amsterdam. Zlatan is ready to take on the derby day records of club legends Wayne Rooney and Eric Cantona and is to bag the first goal at Old Trafford this weekend.
