He's baaaaaaaaaaaack!
Approximately six minutes after the full time whistle at Wembley we heard the news. The Special One was on his way to United. Media reported that he’s set to be confirmed on Tuesday evening, despite Louis Van Gaal’s triumph in the FA Cup.
And that news caused a huge number of punters to cash in with hundreds of bets placed in the past 12 hours on Manchester United to win the Premier League title next season.
So we listened to the people and threw up some Mourinho specials.
Paddy is reporting a constant flow of money since the news was leaked early yesterday evening, forcing the bookmaker to cut United from 13/2 into 6s for the title next season. And after surely being inspired by the spirit of Leicester this season, one confident customer from Chesire (the home of Sir Alex!) has thrown £300 on United for the title at 6/1, the biggest stake we’ve seen since the news broke.
Squeaky bum time indeed.
Jose hasn’t been in management since getting the boot from Chelsea again in December. He took the Londoners to a Premier League title the previous year and has over 15 domestic titles alongside a couple of Champions Leagues. Seemingly the perfect choice for a club that finished fifth and fourth despite spending over 250 million pounds – ten times the top prize on Deal or No Deal.
