Liverpool v Sevilla, Wednesday 7.45pm, BT Sports
The dangerous thing for Liverpool is that everything I read, everything I listen it’s like Sevilla may as well not show up at the St Jakob Park in Basel. Everyone thinks that this is Liverpool’s moment and they’re going to win it.
They might do but I just think there’s a danger of this being a Chelsea moment. I always remember that Chelsea game when they were about to win the league and everyone went to Anfield to party thinking they were winning it. Chelsea beat them and the rest is history.
That’s what Liverpool have to be very careful of. There’s a danger of Liverpool getting carried away again against a team that are not the best in Spain by any stretch but they’ve won this tournament the last two seasons. Sometimes you find a tournament that fits the eye and this certainly fits the eye for Sevilla. They have to respect Sevilla but I think if Liverpool do that and their preparation is good and he picks the right team then I do think they will win.

I’m hearing lots of Liverpool fans predicting, 3-0, 4-0, 4-1 but I think it’ll be a lot closer than that. For most of the season Liverpool have been a feast or a famine, they’ve gotten more consistent and they’re playing better but they still have that errant bad performance in them. I would be looking at something lie a 2-1 win for Liverpool, possibly a 3-1 if they play really well but I do think Sevilla will score.
I know Divock Origi is fit again and has come through some tough training sessions but he has missed some game time and Daniel Sturridge hasn’t put a foot wrong for me. It would be a massive shout if Klopp doesn’t pick Sturridge. I think Sturridge will start the game, Firmino and Coutinho will start and these are the three I’d be looking at for your first goalscorer bets. Sturridge is the stand-out favourite but Firmino looks to have settled in to the team and Coutinho is a player for the big occasions.
