Five stats that will have you backing Arsenal to bounce back and beat Everton at 13/8

How to pick a winning bet in this one

Both sides are struggling for form...

...but recent history leaves the result in little doubt

1. Arsenal have only lost once in their last 18 games against Everton

It has been a dominant run for the Gunners which has seen them win 11, draw 6 and lose just one of their last 18 against the Toffees. Somehow the odds have this as an pick ‘em game but Arsenal’s dominance makes their match price something of a steal.

2. Arsenal have lost just one of their last eight trips to Goodison Park

Okay this is rather similar to stat number one but it’s not just a case of Arsenal going to Merseyside to grind out a bunch of draws. The Gunners have won four, drawn three and lost one of their last eight visits to the blue side of Stanley Park. Three of Arsenal’s four wins were by more than two goals including a couple of particularly hefty home batterings (5-1 & 7-1).

3. Everton have the worst home defence in the Premier League this season

A league worst 26 goals conceded at home is in stark contrast to the mere 13 goals they’ve shipped away from home. They have scored 29 goals in front of their own fans a total only bettered by Manchester City however it hasn’t prevented Everton from having the fourth worst home record. Only Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have picked up fewer points on their own turf. Roberto Martinez’ side have managed just one win in their last eight home games in the Premier League.

Arsenal on the other hand have scored the second highest number of goals away from home with only City scoring more and only Tottenham and Leicester have picked up more points on their travels.

4. Olivier Giroud has five in his last five against Everton

The big Frenchman has looked about as lethal as a bad case of split ends in recent months. His brace against Hull are his only goals in his last 14 games for Arsenal. A poor return for a man who had netted 18 in his first 30 games of the season. Yet he has a knack of getting on the sheet in this clash with a goal in each of his last three appearances against Everton and five in his last five games against them.

  • Giroud to score first at

5. Mesut Ozil has never lost against Everton

Okay so he has only played against them five times since his arrival but it is interesting that the one game against Everton that Mesut Ozil has missed the Gunners happened to lose 3-0. Their only defeat in the last eighteen meetings. The German also has two goals in five games against the Toffees so if he starts he doesn’t just bolster that Arsenal match bet he’s also worth a look to get on the scoresheet.
