7.15pm: Chris Dobey v Josh Rock
Dobey to win 4-3
Third round action continues this evening at Alexandra Palace and kicking things off is Chris Dobey taking on Josh Rock. Both came through their opening round being less than convincing but equally neither looked in too much trouble.
This is a real chance for the pair of them and they’re in the quarter of the draw that has a lot of opportunity. For me, this is going to go deep and go to a deciding set but I just think Dobey is going to have the edge.
There’s a bit of value in Over 15.5 180s in the game due to the length of the match but I fancy Dobey to win the match 4-3.
8:30pm: Michael Van Gerwen v Brendan Dolan
Van Gerwen to win 4-2
Second match of the night is Michael van Gerwen against Brendan Dolan and a lot’s happened in this section of the draw since they both last took to the stage. Neither can look beyond tonight and Michael, certainly, won’t take Brendan for granted and he knows the Irishman’s pedigree.
Dolan beat him at the World Matchplay last year and caused a couple of shocks at the Palace in 2024, beating Gerwyn Price and Gary Anderson before losing to Luke Littler.
I do see Van Gerwen getting through this one. It will be tight, he won’t have it all his own way, Dolan might pick up a couple of sets but I’m on Van Gerwen to win 4-2 and progress to the last 16.
9:45pm: Luke Littler v Ian White
The final match on Saturday night, well, no-one’s giving Ian White a chance as he faces the phenomenon Luke Littler. Littler breezed past Ryan Meikle once he got in full flow and I don’t think he’ll have much bother tonight.
He could drop a set, Ian White has proven that his finishing, especially on tops, is excellent and if he gets a chance he’ll take it but the scoreline here, for me, is 4-1 to Littler.
For a bit of value as well you could look at over 8.5 180s for Littler and, for a bit of fun, it’s a double figure price for Littler to hit a nine darter. He’s always going close and wired one in the last round.
With a couple flying in he’ll want to get involved. He’s wired four in the last two tournaments so he’s always threatening and will want to hit one on the biggest stage.
