It’s a heavy hitting Saturday night at the Ally Pally with Luke Littler making his Paddy Power World Darts Championship bow this year. He takes on Ryan Meikle who just about saw off Fallon Sherrock in the first round.
We’re also treated to a bit of Raymond van Barneveld and the action finishes with the potentially explosive Damon Heta v Connor Scutt clash. So, without further ado, let’s get Mark Webster’s verdict on the evening’s entertainment.

7.15pm: Noppert v Joyce – Joyce to win
Danny Noppert and Ryan Joyce kick things off in the evening session and this is a difficult one to call. Joyce is a big finisher and had that great run in the Grand Prix while Danny Noppert has underwhelmed at the World Championship in the past.
I think that trend’s going to continue and I fancy Joyce to come through, maybe via a deciding set. We could see a couple of ton-plus finishes from him as well as Joyce progresses here.
8.15pm: Van Barneveld v Kenny – RvB to win 3-1
Next up is Raymond van Barneveld against Nick Kenny who wrapped up his round one match with that 170 finish, the big fish! That’s where Kenny’s highlights end, for me, though.
I think Van Barneveld comes through with ease. He may drop a set but I fancy Van Barneveld to win 3-1.
9.15pm: Littler v Meikle – Littler 3-0, Littler 9 darter
The third match of the evening sees Luke Littler start his campaign against Ryan Meikle who dumped Fallon Sherrock out in the first round. I was a real scrap for Ryan in that game and I don’t see him getting any change out of Littler.
Littler wins this match easily, 3-0. For a bit of fun Littler’s a big price to have a nine darter in this match and he’s wired it four times in the last two tournaments so maybe worth a little punt, you never know. He’s in explosive form as he always is.
10.15pm: Heta v Scutt – Scutt to Win
The last match is the tie of the night for me as Damon Heta takes on Connor Scutt. I’ve been so impressed with Connor Scutt’s improvement over the last six months.
He made the quarter finals of the Players Championship and had a ton-plus average in the opening round here. I think he’s going to take the scalp of Heta. It will be close but I’m having Scutt to win and book his spot in round three.
