There’s loads of evening action, and former darts player Mark Webster is on hand to give his thoughts for today’s matchups.

19:15 Mickey Mansell v Tomoya Gota – Mansell to win 3-1

Kicking things off, Mickey Mansell versus Tomoya Goto. Goto had a big victory last year against Ian White, but I don’t see him emulating that this year.

Mickey Mansell was impressive at the Grand Slam, and I think he’ll have too much. I think Goto can get a set, but Mickey Mansell can advance quite comfortably, with three sets to one.

20:15 Florian Hempel v Jeffrey de Zwaan – de Zwaan to win 3-2 and most 180s

The second and third matches have a little value in the outsider, Jeffrey de Zwaan; it’s good to have him back at Ally Pally coming through the playoffs. He’ll take out Florian Hempel despite Florian saving his best form for the Ally Pally stage.

I think de Zwaan will come through 3-2 and have the most 180s as well. He’s a hefty 180-hitter when he gets going.

21:15 William O’Connor v Dylan Slevin – Slevin to win

I also see a bit of an upset in the third match. Dylan Slevin came through the qualifiers. He’s got something. He played Hempel last year and looked very nervous, but he looked much more confident this year as he came through the playoffs. I think he’ll take the scalp of William O’Connor in our third match of the night.

22:15 Michael van Gerwen v James Hurrell – van Gerwen to win 3-1

The final match is our round two clash. Michael van Gerwen gets his campaign underway. James Hurrell was good in his opening round, but I think this will be a step too far. I fancy him to get a set, but that’s all. MvG to get his campaign off and running with a 3-1 win.
