Well, we said we’d do it, so here goes nothing!
Paddy’s on the hook for another £180,000 as part of The BIGGER 180 campaign at the World Darts Championship following Christian Kist’s sensational nine-darter on Wednesday night – and £60,000 of it has landed in one lucky darts patron’s pocket!
“AND IT’S YOU! YES, YOU, RIGHT THERE!”
🎥 The moment a lucky fan in the crowd was randomly chosen to win the £60k bonus after Christian Kist’s 9 darter, all thanks to Paddy Power’s The BIGGER 180 campaign.
This meant we also gave £60k to Kist and @ProstateUK.

The Dutch dartist threw a perfect leg – only the fourteenth in the history of the event – in his first round tie with Madars Razma, hitting double 12 to win the opening set and complete the incredible feat.
It sent those in attendance into delirium and earned the 102nd ranked player in the world £60,000 for himself – treble his year’s earnings so far!
It also added £60,000 to Paddy’s donation to Prostate Cancer UK as part of The BIGGER 180, where we are going to give £1,000 to the charity for every 180 thrown plus a £60k top-up for each nine-darter.
It also meant that one lucky fan in the Ally Pally crowd was picked to win £60,000 as well on the night.
That turned out to be Kris from Sutton, who was attending the darts thanks to his grandad who bought him the ticket.
Speaking after the event, railway worker Kris described how he felt when he won.
“Speechless to be honest! I didn’t expect it to happen to me, a free competition, just speechless. I’m shaking still!”
Asked if he had any plans for the money, he said: “No idea but me and my partner have literally just moved into a flat this year, so maybe we’ll stick some on the mortgage, maybe a nice holiday, I don’t know!”
Here’s to Kris – and to more, more, MORE nine-darters!
Last year, The Big 180 campaign raised £1 million to support Prostate Cancer UK’s lifesaving risk awareness work after 914 180s were hit, with Paddy Power rounding up the final donation to the seven-figure sum.
This year so far the total is already at 163 maximums, meaning – maths genius here – £163,000 is in the kitty for PCUK, and add in £60,000 for Kist’s heroics and we’re up to £223,000!
And the whole thing only started on Sunday! We’ll be broke come January.
Paddy Power and Prostate Cancer UK aim to inspire at least 180,000 men to take the lifesaving risk checker this year. Early action saves lives – don’t wait. Take 30 seconds to check your risk today: prostatecanceruk.org/darts-risk.
