In case you were living under a tock or just haven’t been paying attention, we’re donating £1,000 for EVERY 180 thrown at the Paddy Power World Darts Championship this year to Prostate Cancer UK with our BIGGER 180 campaign.
‘But that’s just the same as last year Paddy – what’s bigger about it?’ , you’re thinking. Well, we’re also going to give an additional £60,000 to the charity for EVERY nine-darter thrown at this year’s tournament.
There went precisely zero last year, so we like the odds of them all being saved up for this time around.
Last year saw 914 total 180s thrown, champion Luke Humphries leading the way with 73, meaning we were obliged to handover – quick maths, carry the one… – £914,000 to the cause.
But we thought that seemed a bit stingy, so rounded it up to a cool £1,000,000.
This year, if Humphries, Littler, MVG and the rest can land a few perfect legs, we’ll have no choice but to find a seven-figure sum.
And that’s not all, cos we’re also going to give £60,000 to any player who hits a nine-darter and £60,000 to one lucky fan in the Ally Pally when it happens! Find out more here.
But enough about all that, let’s talk numbers.
Here’s the total amount we’re giving to PCUK as of right now at this year’s tournment:
We’ll be keeping our snazzy table bang up to date and we’ll be cheering the lads and lasses on to load up on maximums all the way through to the final on January 3rd 2024!
Let’s hear it for the OOONNEEEHUNDREDDANDDDEIGHTIEEEEEEES!
