12:45 – James Hurrell v Jim Long – Hurrell to win 3-1
It’s the opening match of day three’s afternoon session, with James Hurrell taking on Jim Long.
Hurrell has had a steady year, playing well at the Players Championship Finals and maybe should’ve beaten Danny Noppert. I think he should win this game on Tuesday afternoon. I’m going for a 3-1 scoreline, with his reward a meeting with Michael van Gerwen in the second round.
13:45 – Kevin Doets v Noa-Lynn van Leuven – Doets under 4.5 180s
The second match is Kevin Doets v Noa-Lynn van Leuven, and the bookmakers are not giving Noa-Lynn much of a chance in this, and I’m not either. I think Kevin Doets will win this match quite comfortably, 3-0, but to give a bit more value, I think under 4.5 180s for Kevin Doets is worth looking at.
14:45 – Ryan Joyce v Darius Labanauskas – Joyce to win, have the most 180s, and the highest check-out
Third on the line-up is Ryan Joyce v Darius Labanauskas. I think there’s a set in this for underdog Darius Labanauskas, but Ryan Joyce has the scoring and finishing power to win this game. On that basis, the match treble of Ryan Joyce to win, have the most 180s, and the highest check-out is my pick for it.
15:45 – Mike de Decker v Luke Woodhouse – De Decker to win 3-2
The afternoon’s final match is the only one from the second round, and it could be a bit of a classic with Mike de Decker playing well, but I rate Luke Woodhouse. He was excellent at dispatching Lourence Ilagan in the first round, and I think he’ll really give de Decker a challenge on Tuesday afternoon.
I think de Decker will come through in the end, and I’m going for a score of 3-2 with the Grand Prix champ advancing to round three.
