World Darts Championship outright tips
Winner: Luke Littler
Runner Up: Gary Anderson
Dark Horse: Gerwyn Price to reach the semis
Ballon d’Art: Luke Littler
WHEN: 15th December – 3rd January
WHERE: Alexandra Palace, London
TV: Sky Sports
Winner: Luke Littler
I’m going to go for the favourite Luke Littler. He was so close last year and had he gone 5-2 up, that one dart at double 2, he could be the defending champion.
Since then it’s just been explosive, hasn’t it? He won the Premier League, the World Series of Darts and, most recently, the Grand Slam. He’s been threatening nine darters left, right and centre.
The form’s good, he’ll be looking forward to it, and he’ll love all the attention. I think Luke Littler will go on and lift the World Championship.
Runner Up: Gary Anderson
His opponent in the final? Well there’s some big names in that bottom half of the draw. Gary Anderson is the favourite to get through, Michael van Gerwen could clash with Gary in the fourth round but I think Anderson will enjoy the battle.
He’s the favourite in that bottom half of the draw, I think he’ll do it, he’s in great form and put in a great performance against Littler at the Grand Slam.
Yes he lost that game, but he can only take positive from it. It was the Gary Anderson of old and he’s super hungry at the moment to get himself back into the top 10 in the world and I think it’s Anderson and Littler in the final.
Dark Horse: Gerwyn Price to make the semis
I’m going to go for the third quarter, which I think most people will, there’s some top seeds in that group but players who just aren’t playing well. For me, Gerwyn Price is a huge price.
He’s won multiple major titles and, yes, he’s had a bad year results-wise but I don’t think the performances have been that bad. He was unlucky in the Premier League and, if for a double here and there, he might have had some better results.
He’ll be hungry, he missed the Grand Slam which would have hurt him and he’s ready to go. He’s making the right noises, he wants to be back in the Premier League and has had some decent results on the exhibition circuit lately. He’s too big too ignore and I think he’ll have a decent run.
Most 180s: Luke Littler
Obviously the Ballon d’Art goes hand-in-hand with the winner, Luke Littler. He’s racking up the 180s, threatning those nine darters, and if he’s gong to win the title surely he will have the most 180s as well.
