Luke Littler is the favourite to win the Paddy Power World Darts Championship after taking the world by storm the last time darts fever gripped the Ally Pally.

‘The Nuke’ became the youngest player in history to reach the World Darts Championship final earlier this year and his rapid rise to the top has continued with successes in Premier League Darts and World Series of Darts Finals.

After a slow start to his opening match in the second round, Littler delivered a sensational display in the final set to breeze through to the next stage.

Luke Humphries, the reigning champ, is next in our outright betting after a simply incredible year on the oche.

‘Cool Hand Luke’ has not looked back since lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy at the start of the year by adding the World Matchplay, New Zealand Darts Masters and World Cup of Darts to his CV.

Humphries also reached the final of the UK Open, Premier League Darts and World Grand Prix, which suggests he is very much the player to beat, although there has not been a repeat winner since 2016.

Michael van Gerwen, one of the greatest to have ever picked up a set of arrows, can also be found towards the top of the betting.

The three-time world champion has failed to get his hands on a major prize in the current calendar year but reached the final of The Masters and World Matchplay.

He has a route to the final that avoids the two Lukes.
