Rob Cross to Win the Poland Darts Masters (each-way)

With Luke Littler and Luke Humphries priced as short as they are in the outright betting at every event, and rightly so, we find ourselves relying on the draw for an angle in. That’s exactly what we have been provided with at the Poland Darts Masters.

The two Lukes have been drawn in the same half as one another, while Cross is in the opposite section and doesn’t even have the in-form Gerwyn Price to contend with as the Welshman decided to withdraw from this competition.

Reigning champion Michael van Gerwen poses the biggest threat to Voltage in the bottom half. After skipping the Nordic Darts Masters last weekend, Mighty Mike took part in both midweek Players Championship events. He was upset by Franz Roetzsch in the first round on Tuesday before a more encouraging run to the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

There isn’t much wrong with van Gerwen’s overall data in recent months, but given that he keeps struggling in the latter stages of tournaments – often from winning positions – it’s an easy choice between him and Cross.

The world number six can make it three World Series final appearances in as many weeks and secure us a return on our each-way punt.

Luke Littler v Adam Gawlas – Luke Littler -3.5 Leg Handicap

Littler has not thrown a competitive dart since his US Darts Masters debut a fortnight ago. His last 16 opponent is Adam Gawlas, who will play in his fifth successive World Cup with the Czech Republic at the end of June.

Gawlas made the UK Open semi-finals last year but sadly for him, this season has been a struggle. His average for 2024 is six points down from his 2023 figure, and if he plays to that low 80s level against Littler, he won’t get anywhere near covering the leg handicap.

The Nuke has posted a ton-plus average in each of his last five matches, and you’d be brave to back against him doing the same here.

Luke Humphries v Gyorgy Jehirszki – Correct Score Luke Humphries 6-0

It is not unusual to see whitewashes in the last 16 of World Series events, especially when Cool Hand Luke is involved. In fact, Humphries has not lost a leg in any of his four first-round matches in the World Series this year.

The world number one also won 6-0 in his first match at the Poland Darts Masters in 2023. Hungarian newcomer Gyorgy Jehirszki won’t be expecting to get much change out of Humphries, and it’s too juicy a price to ignore for him to get nothing at all.
