Boris Krcmar v Gary Anderson – Anderson to Win 4-0
Opening Friday night’s evening session, it’s the big Croatian Boris Krcmar going head-to-head with the two-time World Champion Gary Anderson.
Gary’s been in brilliant form this season, picking up three ranking titles and he looked super comfortable in his opening tie against Simon Whitlock where he averaged over 98 – so comfortable in fact that I’m going for an Anderson win 4-0 that’ll see the double world champ into the fourth round.

Michael van Gerwen v Stephen Bunting – Van Gerwen to Win 4-3
Next up, we kick off round four with a box office clash between Michael van Gerwen and one of the in-form players of recent months, Stephen Bunting.
He’s the underdog here but has made the latter stages of major after the major and in this tournament he opened up with a 107 average, and in the third round was hitting over 101 in a 4-0 win against Florian Hempel.
So, if you were picking just based on the form at the Ally Pally this year you’d probably go for Stephen Bunting, but this is Michael van Gerwen he’s up against – three-time World Champion, six-time finalist in the last 11 years, and I think that experience will count for him on Friday night.
Also, of the 24 times they’ve played, Michael has won 20 times.
It’ll be close, but I’m going for MVG to win it 4-3.
Michael Smith v Chris Dobey – Dobey to Win 4-2
Closing out the action is defending champion Michael Smith up against Chris Dobey.
The Bully Boy was really impressive on the opening night of the tournament, closing out a win over Kevin Doets. He was perhaps a little less convincing in his third round match against Madars Razma, while Chris Dobey was brilliant in getting past Ross Smith, averaging over 102, and he has been great all year.
For that reason I think Michael’s world title defence ends on Friday night and I’m going for a Chris Dobey 4-2 win.
